Map Alexandra

Alexandra is a great place to visit in all 4 seasons. The town is thriving with viticulture and wine making - the dry continental climate is ideal for grapes, cherries, apricots, nectarines, apples and peaches. Alexandra has many historic sites from Central Otago's formative years of the Gold Rush. The international reputation of the Otago Central Rail Trail as a walking and mountain-biking trail is well established. It is a year-round recreational facility and is a public reserve which can be walked or ridden in either direction.

Alexandra Holiday Park is ideally situated for a rest stop. You can easily walk to the town centre where there is a variety of cafes, restaurants and shopping options. 4WD enthusiasts enjoy the many trails in the area, 4WD trails permeate the surrounding foothills and mountains, we have plenty of safe off-road parking for vehicles. Fishing is a popular pastime on the Clutha and Manuherikia rivers and also the local dams. Lake Dunstan has also gained good stocks of sizeable trout and salmon.

We are happy to provide you with local fishing knowledge.
